Review of Dead Calm (1989) by Slightly L — 25 Dec 2010
Omg. It was interesting to see John communicate to Rae by clicking on the walkie talkie. John is a brave character and so is Rae, for pretending to be interested in the deeply disturbed Billy Zane. There is of course, the question of whether Rae liked having sex with Hughie (Zane) but one thing is for certain - there was little heat off camera.
Kidman and Zane both have expressed that they didn't get along. Nicole out right said that Billy and she didn't get on and Zane said that Kidman punched him in the face during one take and that wasn't in the script.
I'm sure they're just homesick from being out at sea for too long.
