Review of Day of the Woman (1978) by Richard J — 01 Apr 2010
I Spit on your Grave is great old school horror, from an era long gone. It may seem like an exploitation film, but I don't believe it is, no more so then modern horror at least. It's violence is gratuitous at times (the bathtub scene is awesome), but the production values are quite good.
The cinematography is solid, even if it is taken down a bit by some of the acting. The acting for the most part is ok (I've seen a lot worst), at least on Camille Keaton's part, she's great.
As a horror/revenge flick it totally withstands the test of time. The 1970's was one hell of a decade for horror, something that just hasn't been recaptured...yet.
