Review of Day of the Woman (1978) by Varden L — 29 Oct 2014
A great movie it you watch it contextually as two different pieces and split the movie in half. The first half is of course hard to watch with the gratuities of rape and savagery but if you truly watch the character adaption from the beginning to the end she moves from a meek reliant woman to a self empowered woman who no longer allows herself to be taken advantage of.
You must admit the film is not of the best caliber of direction but it was a true testament of the time if you understand what the director intended to be.
