Review of Dancer and the Dame (2015) by Jacob B — 24 May 2017
Dancer and the Dame has its moments, in fact I found the third act to reach some emotional heights, and will probably serve younger audiences well. However, the movie is, in all honesty, pretty cheesy.
I think this movie is about as cheesy as it can get. To be fair, it is Pure Flix. From what I heard, Pure Flix is a pretty bad movie company that pretends to be a nice family-friendly company that sends nice family-friendly Christian to a theater near you.
And most of them are criticized by many. I can see why with this film: the jokes aren't that funny, the...er...action is mostly just cheap thrills and it's overall just not very good. Besides, haven't we already seen these types of movies regarding a dog who's the human protagonist's annoying roommate up until a few people he know teach him how to calm him down and ultimately gain each other's respect in the end? I feel like we already have.
Ugh, I'm going to try to, as much as possible, stick only with mainstream theatrically released dog movies. To heck with these direct-to-DVD pieces of junk.
