Review of Dagon (2001) by Zack M — 03 Jul 2007
I'm only knocking off one star for some half-baked exposition and a bit of poor CG work early in the film; otherwise, Dagon is a top notch schlockfest that has all the right prerequisites for a B Movie masterpiece.
There is one virtuoso sequence in the film that really sold me, where Paul spends the night in a seedy motel, and frantically tries to unscrew a deadbolt from one door and screw it on to another as a gaggle of monsters ascend the stairs leading to his room.
Highly recommended for Lovecraft fans.
