Review of Cul-de-sac (1966) by Danny B — 22 Aug 2011
Sexual identity and alienation in the face of bourgeoisie lifestyles seems to be a trend with Polanski at the beginning of his career. The film plays like a work of Beckett, with the added benefit of Polanski's ever-present and intrusive style that toys with emotions of the audience, without spilling into melodrama.
Nobody makes a psychological thriller like this man.
