Good old-fashioned creepy ghost story. The acting was top notch, of course; wouldn't expect anything else from Jessica Chastain. Guillermo Del Toro brought his signature creepiness to the ghosts--the most frightening I've ever seen.
And the house oozing Crimson mud made for the perfect backdrop to this chilling mystery.
