Review of Crimson Peak (2015) by Deren K — 17 Mar 2016
Sometimes it strains too hard to create a spooky atmosphere, but if, like me, you enjoy a good old-fashioned Victorian horror melodrama, "Crimson Peak" is your movie. Icily beautiful Jessica Chastain and kittenish Mia Wasikowska are both perfect for their roles, with Chastain giving the movie's most impressive performance.
In fact, I think it's her best. Wonderful direction by Guillermo del Toro and beautiful set design make this a treat for fans of classic horror.
