Review of Crimson Peak (2015) by Danburrito — 17 Oct 2015
Had a few weak points but all in all, a much better film than Pacific Rim. Tom Hiddleston and Jessica Chastain were excellent. Mia Wasikowska and Charlie Hunman were pretty good too. As can be expected from a Guillermo Del Toro film, the visuals were stunning and definitely Oscar worthy.
Also Oscar worthy was Chastain's performance. She portrayed her character brilliantly and certainly deserves Best Supporting Actress. Some parts were a bit predictable but in spite of its flaws, it's still an intriguing, enjoyable movie.
A combination of Val Newton and Alfred Hitchcock.
