Review of Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954) by Ricky M — 04 Mar 2008
This could be seen as the missing link between the old Universal monster sequence and 50's B sci fi as it falls into both camps.
Essentially a jungle adventure come Beauty and the Beat tale this still works very well today. The man in a suit creature is effective and you can't help but sympathise with it. Filled with excellent characters, some excellent underwater sequences and a great score.
