Review of Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954) by Andrey B — 20 Nov 2017
This movie is a delight, a classic of the monster genre and definitely one of the best from the 50's. The bravura underwater photography is flawless, the soundtrack is beautifully evocative, in some scenes it even reminded me of the Jaws theme.
Indeed this movie might have been an inspiration for Spielberg as for many others for it's a truly seminal monster film with so many familiar elements evidently borrowed from it. The movie looks remarkably well, made for ages.
