Review of Crank (2006) by Tyler Y — 23 Nov 2010
Very exciting movie! every single scene was full of action... Can´t fall asleep watching this one! ;).
But I have to say it is impossible to survive a fall this high. As it took about 1 minute 30 seconds for Jason Statham to hit the ground, the velocity must have been 900 m/s. Assuming he weighs 100 kg, the momentum was 90000 kg·m/s. For comparison, an average car weighing 1000 kg should be driving 324 km/h to generate the same momentum and imagine hitting a stone fall with a speed like that.
And as it took 90 seconds for him to fall without parachute, he must have been falling from height of 41326 meters. There isn´t enough oxygene to breath, the ozone would have poisoned him and UVC (wavelengths less than 280 nm.) radiation burned him.
