Review of Cosmopolis (2012) by Hari K — 20 Sep 2012
Cosmopolis is an actual movie that's very dull, but at the same time it's really well made. David Cronenberg wrote a very remarkable script because it had terrific dialogue and great character development.
The direction was also done very well, like the camera angles were great and the whole dark tone really worked for the film. Also David Cronenberg actually knows how to use Robert Pattinson because usually Robert Pattinson plays his same old bland self in all his films and it just never works, but in this movie his bland performance worked.
So Cosmopolis is a movie you should probably see just because Robert Pattinson is actually good in the film. The co-stars are great in the film as well, like Samantha Morton was good, Paul Giamatti was good, Jay Baruchel was brief but still good and Juliette Binoche was also really good.
So the movie has awesome direction, a terrific script and very good performances by it's cast, so why did I rate this movie so low? The reason I rated this movie low, is because the movie drags on and I mean it really drags on.
The film was good, but wow did it ever bore me at times, like some scenes were set up great, but they just lasted too long. I think that's the only thing I hated in this movie, it was slow and I know that's a very stupid reason for rating a movie low, but seriously when people watch this movie they will know what I'm talking about.
The movie is very good, it's just very dull at times and it drags on a lot, if the movie didn't do that the whole time, the movie would have been awesome.
