Review of Cosmopolis (2012) by Jonathan W — 11 Mar 2015
This oddity from legendary director David Cronenberg isn't for everyone. In fact, it isn't for most people. The pace is extremely slow, the characters are cold and unsympathetic, and the dialogue is bizarre.
Despite all this, there is still something fascinating about Eric Packer's trip across Manhattan. Pattinson is perfectly cast as the soulless, predatory young billionaire. The emotionless, monotone delivery that he is know for thanks to Twilight works in his favor this time around.
If you can keep an open mind and accept the strange world that Cronenberg creates, you might find this to be an intriguing analysis of the "one percent.".
