Review of Conviction (2010) by Kimberley D — 14 Jan 2012
This movie is one that pulls together a cast of TERRIFIC actors and showcases their talents. Another movie that just confirms to me that Sam Rockwell has not yet had the recognition he deserves for his acting talent.
Swank is also solid here, a great performance. Juliette Lewis is her fantastic self. I just think the acting in it was brilliant - not a weak link in portraying characters soundly is found. I just wish the topic was as fascinatingly put across.
In parts slow, in parts dull, the only thing keeping you going was the back-of-the-mind hope that there would be some kind of plot twist to keep it interesting and the appearances of Rockwell and Lewis of course.
