Review of Conviction (2010) by Johnnylee T — 23 Mar 2016
Smooth treatment of a compelling story that with more realism would have been a lot better. Worth watching for the performances. I felt as though things were kept from us for too long, for the sake of making the movie more compelling, but I'd have preferred to be trusted more with the plain facts.
American movies often play up the family love and devotion angle, and it certainly deserves it here but unfortunately it can lead to a television-like approach.
