Review of Code 46 (2003) by Laura R — 14 Dec 2007
This film I caught by accident on TV once is set in a futuristic China where rules are strict and cloning is possible. Two very different characters meet, 1 married 1 trying to find her way and they fall in love but she falls pregnant and dissapears, captured by authorities and given an abortian, then her mind wiped.
Her lover distraught reminds her of who she is and they run away trying to comes to terms with her being biologically DNA related to his mother, forbidden by the authorities to ever consumate. This film is very dreamlike and moving and has some very interesting concepts to futuristic rule run China.
