Review of Chungking Express (1994) by Pamela D — 27 Mar 2009
Wonderful film. Kar Wai Wong is an impeccable genius with his unique sense of style. I love his fast paced camera direction and scrutinizing way of using certain objects...some may be a little obscure and irrelevent but it all works nonetheless. The motifs protrayed in each story potray loneliness, longing, change, etc. (the expiration dates, "California Dreaming", the airplane, etc).Faye Wong was magnicient...awesome character, beautiful way of weaving throughout her part in the film.
I'll step out of my intellectual self now and say Takeshi Kaneshiro is totally hot =) Its also not an excellent Kar Wai Wong film without the amazing Tony Leung included.
