Review of Charlie Wilson's War (2007) by John P — 27 Mar 2010
This is a must-see picture. It not only entertains in great fashion, but it also educates, since it is largely based on true events.
Tom Hanks may be a little weird these days, but the boy from Hayward still turns in top notch performances. Philip Seymour Hoffman is one of the best of the new breed of Hollywood talent and shines in his usual manner while Julia Roberts does an acceptable job of portraying a wealthy southern socialite.
While probably not OK for the kids, this is a good evenings worth of adult "edutainment.".
