Review of Charlie Countryman (2013) by Aaron N — 21 Nov 2013
Screw all the bad reviews. This movie perfectly depicts someone who is lost and without direction. His recently deceased mother tells him to go to Bucharest (he can talk to dead people, but I think it was the directors unique way to show someone who is so numb they can't make their own decisions.
he literally asks his mother what he should do). In times of loss it's never a good idea to make spontaneous decisions, but why not? Fear of change makes for a boring life. Once on the plane, his life takes a new direction to a place of adventure and love.
Most people wouldn't have been able to handle it and gone back home, but Shia's character stuck with it.
