Review of Charlie Countryman (2013) by Patrick K — 26 Nov 2014
This is a weird film but not necessarily in a good way. Charlie Countryman (Shia LaBeouf) goes on a trip to Bucharest thanks to a vision from his late mother and whilst in Bucharest falls in love with a girl named Gabi (Evan Rachel Wood) but unfortunately for him a gangster Nigel (Mads Mikkelson) has already laid claims to her who will attack anyone who tries to get near her.
The film is full of weird hallucinations, violence and beautiful locations but the story is flat and the acting far from inspiring.
