Review of Chapter 27 (2007) by Jason P — 23 Mar 2010
Could've been a great psychological film about an obsessed fan and pyschopath who kills John Lennon, but it doesn't really get deep into the mind of Chapman until the end, but I think the director should've have shown these types of details at the beginning and then gradually get deeper in his mind as the movie progressed.
Jared Leto was good, not great, even though he did gain a lot of weight for the part, but at times he seemed to be forcing himself to be "weird", and "creepy", maybe the role made him very uncomfortable, but whatever the case, it was obvious that he wasn't comfortable portraying this guy.
With a bigger budget, perhaps this film could have been more detailed in many different ways.
