Review of Cassandra's Dream (2007) by Tom B — 17 Oct 2011
This is a weaker Woody Allen outing, with a good cast and shooting lost in a boring plot.
Armed with awful cockney accents McGregor and Farrell are brothers who turn to crime to pay off gambling debts. The romantic angle is subtle and missed, the family is unbelievable and the brothers are almost unlike-able too. The name of the film is the name of the brother's sailing boat.
Poor, disappointing and frankly just modern experience for Allen, I would suggest avoiding and watch Match Point and Allen films of the past.
