Anyone comparing this film with Pirates of the Caribbean has to have a rotted, maggot infested brain. This is the definitive swashbuckling movie of all time. Douglas Fairbanks Sr. was identified with the genre until 1935 when Flynn masterfully took on this, his first starring role and made it his own - forever.
