Review of Captain Blood (1935) by James-Masaki R — 14 Sep 2011
The movie that put both Errol Flynn and Olivia de Havilland on the star map is still one of the best 'pirate movies' out there, even if the piracy starts out towards the middle of the movie. A big gamble for Warner Brothers, by investing in two unknowns for leads, a huge budget, and a hit-or-miss genre.
Unusual that it shows how a group of ex-slaves became the most wanted pirates of the Caribbean sea. After more than 70 years, still awesome.
