Review of Captain Blood (1935) by Scott S — 16 Jun 2010
This film started off a bit slow. It was an hour into it before the real pirate action began. Once it did, I was completely into it.
Errol Flynn was so charismatic as the captain of his ship, that he had me cheering right along with him and his crew. The sword fights and battle scenes were terrific. I was amazed at how good the battle scenes were. They did a great job in filming them. The story line was good, overall, even if it took a little while to get Errol Flynn off the ground and onto a ship.
I recommend this film to any fan of classic movies, swashbucklers, pirates, Errol Flynn, and Olivia de Haviland.
