Review of Captain Blood (1935) by Chris M — 02 Sep 2012
Undeniably one of the forerunners of many if not all of the great action films of the 20th century, a piece of film history which I hope would still appeal (but probably won't) to any generation. Flynn's presence would steal any show, but one of the perhaps unsung stars of this film is Rathbone, who steals the scene even from the young Adonis himself.
To use a worn out phrase, a ripping yarn and a convincing performance by all.
