Review of Broken Blossoms or The Yellow Man and the Girl (1919) by Rachel B — 15 Mar 2010
The pacing of this film is fantastic and the core themes are great, but I couldn't get over the fact that the Gish character is underaged. That, along with the one-sided nature of the romance, ruined the tender relationship between the leads for me.
It's important and interesting, but failed to engage me at an emotional level.
