Review of Broken Blossoms or The Yellow Man and the Girl (1919) by Mitchell W — 05 Apr 2014
Problematic like his other features, but Lillian Gish is for the most part incredible, especially when she's left to her own devices, and in terms of visual craft, it's arguably Griffith's best work.
If I had to pick my two favorite Griffith films, it would be this or "Intolerance.".
