Review of Brighton Rock (1948) by Kim A — 24 Jul 2008
For some of us it's hard to imagine Richard Attenborough as anything more that a sad old lovie who attends lots of award shows. However, he is also a truly stunning actor. This portrait of gang warfare between the wars gives Atenborough a chance to turn in a mesmrising performance as Pinkie brown, one of the scariest characters ever committed to celluloid.
A must for fans of British gangster films.
