Review of Brief Encounter (1945) by David W — 06 Aug 2007
Well worth watching. A fascinating look into the attitudes (particularly to romance and relationships) of the 1940's. The accents and attitudes are so different that they occasionally cause amusement, but it is a very watchable film, with the lead characters struggling between desire, appearances and morality.
I was fortunate enough to see it at the cinema (in the new digital version) which I can recommend.
