Review of Brief Encounter (1945) by David L — 10 Sep 2014
With wonderfully realized characters, strong acting, remarkable atmosphere, dramatic and always involving plot and an intriguing and fascinating structure with superb and not at all annoying narration, Brief Encounter has a couple of detours, but it is a remarkable, morally conscious, beautiful, entirely engaging, nicely paced, heartbreaking, romantic and an all-around fantastic film that is deservedly a British classic, somewhat of a precursor to 'Before Sunrise' and undoubtedly one of the finest romance films of all time.
