Review of Brick (2006) by Nathan G — 21 Dec 2013
An experimental Neo-Noir film from Rian Johnson. The idea of creating a high school take on a Mickey Spillane-like story and narrative without a trace of irony or parody is brilliant. The cinematography is exceptional and Joseph Gordon-Levitt carries this film with a great deal of charisma and skill.
A must see and a sneak peak at Rian Johnson's early work.
