Review of Pusher (1996) by Louis F — 28 May 2011
Insanely unoriginal and completely boring.
I made it past the halfway mark and still could not bring myself to give a shit about anyone in the film.
Uninspired, derivative, totally charmless characters pretending to be tough guys.
A great movie if you're a 10 year old boy with a sugar problem who wants to punch people in the face when you grow up.
Lacks the kinetic energy of Guy Ritchie, lacks the cinematography, actors and honesty of Scorsese. I enjoyed Refn's "Bronson", it seems he's grown some since "Pusher" but I can't imagine sticking around to watch the other two Pusher films.
