Review of Bottle Shock (2008) by Chris V — 30 Sep 2008
This is an endearing, if noticeably flawed, little indie flick. It doesn't do anything surprising or different, but it somehow manages to be decently watchable. It did have me on edge at places, threatening to veer off into a hackneyed sort of melodrama (basically, it's an underdog story, and every notion you have about what an underdog story contains is represented here), but luckily it shies away from that before the point of no return can be crossed.
Also: Alan Rickman is a badass, always. So it's an okay film. Not really worth paying for (I know I didn't), but worth catching when it shows up on cable in a couple years.
