Review of Blue Velvet (1986) by Ben F — 13 Jun 2015
I've seen this both in theaters and on rental; if there is a screening coming soon near you, go to it. Something interesting about seeing Blue Velvet in theaters is that the shared audience emotion heightens the laughs and scares of the movie.
It's a classic, maybe one of the best movies of all time, but it's that much better when everyone is laughing at an uncomfortable (or Lynchianly hilarious) moment. To me it's David Lynch's most complete movie, tied with a bow, almost unsettlingly neatly.
