Review of Blue Velvet (1986) by Phillip S — 20 Jun 2010
The surreal and disturbing undercurrents of every day life are revealed to a curious young man after he finds an ear in a paddock. This classic coming-of-age story from David Lynch will challenge the viewer, but it's rewarding all the same.
Badalamenti's haunting score, Splet's sound design and Hopper's manic performance make this an experience not to be missed. Lynch is the master of twisting the audience, almost for his own sadistic glee.
