Review of Blow-Up (1966) by Jason L — 26 Mar 2008
While it is somewhat hard to enjoy while watching, Blow-Up reveals itself to be an amazingly multi-layered film on further consideration. Antonioni is primarily concerned with the nature of personal reality (what we see versus what really is happening).
The film then, lets plot take a backseat in favor of idea. That can be initially frustrating, but give Blow-Up time to sink in. It deserves to be seen and analyzed.
