Review of Blood Into Wine (2010) by David W — 23 Dec 2010
Uneven documentary about wine making, rock stardom and where the twain meet. Maynard James Keenan, front man for Tool and A Perfect Circle, is fascinatingly drool as a singer-songwriter who writes to expel his demons and makes wine to relax with something heâ(TM)s equally passionate about.
The film excels with the in-depth discussions of âArizona Wine,â? the snobs who discount it, and the experts who applaud it. Where I felt it lagged was when it breaks from the documentary format and tries to be a comedy.
Iâ(TM)ve never understood the Tim & Eric craze, and after this I still donâ(TM)t.
