Review of Blood Father (2016) by Gareth P — 01 Sep 2016
Watched because of good reviews and was very disappointed. The script is an illusion of importance and depth that crates very little character beyond loudness and pointed use of the f-word.
Gibson does an excellent job of portraying tension and frustration but that's his job and despite his belief system we should expect Mel still be a very good actor.
A movie about a father protecting his daughter from gangsters needs to have characters that the audience cares about and Blood Father does not.
