Review of Blade Runner (1982) by Stewart F — 17 Dec 2017
A film with incredible highs and unspoken lows. Blade Runner is full of some of the most indescribably beautiful shots and influential visuals, as well as intriguing questions about life and humanity and a world so visceral and tangible that you get swept up into it.
The music is stunning, the concepts are next level, and it's invention of the neo-future noir cannot be overlooked. That all being said, it is a clunky film filled with contrived story elements, poorly written leads, and a pace that could bore a sloth.
A definitive mixed bag that is hailed, for good reason, as a classic.
