Review of Black Sheep (2010) by Vince K — 27 Sep 2009

NOTE: The movie I'm reviewing here is called ANIMALADA. It is not in the Flixter database so I'm writing it under the closest movie, Black Sheep. Animalada is probably the greatest, funniest foreign film I've ever seen.

It was made in Argentina and is about a guy who falls in love with a sheep and kills anyone who gets in his way. He and his wife are vacationing in their summer home with a nearby sheep farm, and one night this beautiful white sheep comes calling and it's love at first sight.

He starts to ignore his wife, and the film starts doing this artsy thing where it cuts to a piece of barbed wire fence and ominous music starts playing, I guess symbolizing their relationship. He takes the sheep to the barn and starts romancing it, even naming it, and their first time is magical.

At that point when it cuts to the barbed wire fence it is bleeding, which is LULZ. When a farmhand comes into the barn and RAPES HIS SHEEP, he murders him with a pitchfork. Little does he know his wife was watching.

The next day she goes to their children with her story about how their father is murderous sheep fucker and they promptly institutionalize her, resulting in more LULZ. This is great because it leaves him with more time with the love of his life, his sheep.

He grinds up his victim and takes his sheep on a wonderful picnic, feeding the remains to her. It's funny as fuck when she shits him out, and he buries the feces and puts a tiny little wooden cross on the grave.

When his children steal the sheep and drop it off the side of the road, he follows and has to fight off field people who want it for food, which results in more cold blooded murder. But how long can he protect their love, and keep them both safe? Find out by BUYING, not renting, this hilarious, engaging foreign film.
