Review of Black Death (2010) by Andy P — 21 Jun 2011
There is no God. At least the village of necromancers and witches believe that. Word gets out that evil doings from this village have plagued the surrounding villages and a black death is sweeping the countryside.
That's the basic premise for this really exciting and horrific tale of the casualties that lies with having religion in a dark age. Religion is the root of all evil is what I took from this story.
Without it we would just have peace, and who wants heaven on earth, right? Just ask the people who kill, lie, steal and cheat all in the name of religion. This obviously is a thought-provoking story that disguised as a period piece film is timeless, and for that I thank all involved in making this movie.
To come away with a new perspective on an important topic and to be thrilled, excited and mesmerized by such beautiful images and scenery as this film has provided, proves that this is one great piece of work in my opinion.
I recommend it to all.
