While it is a very well shot movie that takes full advantage of the bleak Icelandic landscape, Beowulf & Grendel is a painfully boring movie that succeeds in stripping away the supernatural elements and the epic heroism of the tale; in short, taking out the stuff that made the Beowulf epic appealing in the first place.
