Review of Beowulf & Grendel (2005) by Bobby L — 28 Nov 2009
Amazing cinematography. I really like how real everything seems and the absolute desperation we see in Rothgar before Beowulf shows up. Unlike Zemckis' fun mo-cap, this isn't an action film, but the few scenes are handled well enough.
This is much more of a character study on how this affects the people. For my money this is Butler's best acting to date. He's damn good here, as is Stellan Skarsgard and Sarah Polley. The rest of the cast do quite well as well.
