Review of Ben-Hur (1959) by Vijay N — 09 Jun 2015
Ever wondered how a movie with perfection in every department of film making would turn out to be, watch this!!! A gem of historic fiction coupled with high emotions, consistently maintained throughout the 212 min.
William Wyler has made an absolute epic no one would witness ever in the decades to come, the very excitement of the adventurous life of ben hur is not exhausted till the end titles roll. Karl Tunberg's screenplay immerses our thoughts into the ancient era steadily and effectively tunes our nerves into settling for the same , especially the way scenes concerned with Jesus were invoked with unique precision.
Marvelous conversations were penned down inculcating fluidity even to sensitive parts of the story. Costume design is an epitome of resurrection of period far behind present. Music triumphs at every movement of the film and flexes with the script and casts it's spell of ancient charm.
Charlton Heston gets our pulse at his finger tips with a brilliant performance beyond words. Everything about the movie from director to the last slave among the hundreds on galleys, make the story of Ben Hur "A tale of christ .
".
