Review of Before Sunrise (1933) by Sujit O — 22 Dec 2014
The quality of Indie film making rarely goes higher than the Before series by Linklater.
Made for a meager 2 million dollar, this walk and talk romantic film takes us into a wide range of topics which seem to go nowhere. Ranging from philosophical topics to romantic life to books and palm reading and poetry, Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy share and constructively argue their own thoughts and feelings until sunrise where they are to never see each other ever, or for a very long time.
The absolute natural feel to the movie make the conversations so realistic. There is so many view points and interesting ideas to take from a movie like this. Almost all of the music comes from inside the film itself, and this coupled with the incredibly long takes and settings keep you stuck with the characters more and more. Its a perfect character study with masterful writing and direction from Linklater. This beautiful romance gets a perfect rating.
