Review of The Motorcycle Diaries (2004) by Sujit O — 04 Oct 2016
The early 20's of a man filled with passion and hope decides to travel across Latin America taking a break from medical school to learn about the continent which he had only read through books. Che along with his 30 year old biochemist friend Alberto Granado take their 'trusty' motorcycle on a 12,000km trip through the socially and geographically complex topography of Latin America. It's here that the revolutionary 'Che' was made. A film that sucks you completely inside and make you question the fundamental truths about life and if its worth fighting for.
Both Gael Garcia Bernal and Rodrigo De la Serna do wonderful work with the characters to make it an enriching experience. It's been one of the best viewings I've had since 'Into the Wild' a couple of years back. As Roger Moore has put it- "Filled with the best kind of idealism".
