Review of Beatriz at Dinner (2017) by Nosh S — 14 Jun 2017
Fascinating premise- spiritual adept and healer from Mexico who treats an oligarchical California woman meets Trumpian high roller at a dinner party. The deftly drawn sketches of the wives and the general life of the 1%ers are right on.
The casual brutality of the antagonist (played brilliantly by John Lithgow) is chilling. All of the acting is on target, though Beatriz herself is a bit much even for me. The goats were great.
