Review of Beatriz at Dinner (2017) by Shannon S — 23 Sep 2018
It's not a comedy I agree, or a satire even. I read all of the reviews of others that said they were left confused and bored. I don't get that at all. To me the movie was straight pretty straight forward.
Beatriz the healer was trying to save the world with her ideals etc.. John Lithgow and people like him are the cancer in the world, spreading hate, greed and apathy. I suppose the ending is a sign that she gave up.
Which is depressing . I felt sad and hopeless for a good full hour after I watched this movie.
